I live on seven acres with no close neighbors and 35-40 minutes drive to the nearest town.
I found, I have to make a conscious effort to attend meetings, coffee dates with friends and invite people over.
I love living out here and chose this lifestyle but there are times when I wish I was 5 minutes from the next grocery store or from the gas station.
For me, it's been about weighing my priorities. I don't think, I will be dying here, I think as I get older I will have to move closer to a town but for now my life is here and yes, there are disadvantages along with the benefits.
