They are the ones that do outbreak investigations. If you have any leftovers, keep them so they can be tested.
It's impossible to say which ingredient caused the illness. Here is a link to a summary of bugs that cause foodborne illness. Bacillus cereus is classically associated with contaminated rice, but meat is most frequently the source of infections.
