I'd stick with it with her. I can see a "yellow," but only one. I think this is especially effective if you've had a discussion at a calm time and she has agreed to the necessity to work on the behavior. The yellow is then a reminder of what you'd previously agreed on.
I'd also try to make the consequences more immediate; to miss something even a day later might not totally connect, especially emotionally, at that age. But you know her, and know what consequences will work the best.
I have some that can sit in an empty room quite happily for a looooong time before it's punishment! LOL.
