We made it through the first six chapters of LfC, and it took us a long time to do it too. I'm really not saying that proudly, just want you to know we gave it the ole' college try.
My girls just dreaded it, I wasn't familiar with it and therefore it kept getting bumped to the end of the day, which isn't the most opportune time slot.
My girls wanted to learn Spanish, my brother has traveled to several South American countries in the past two years and is also learning Spanish, my neighbor is fluent and offered to help...it seemed more relevant to our lives at this stage.
I will say, we learned a bit from our Latin experience. We sometimes encounter words and look at each other when we have an "aha" this is where that derivation came from, moment. I can see the benefit of learning Latin, but we're okay not studying it for now. No regrets.
I would like to do a Latin word study and maybe come back around to it later, but we're happier now, for now.
