I will look at CHOW. Is this what Sonlight uses? It sounds familiar.

I like the idea of using the VP cards to schedule TQ - it keeps the flow, lets me know what the important topics to cover are and allows us to wrap up in a year, should we so desire.

What is FMOR? FMOG? Sorry, but I'm not familiar with these acronyms. So you use CHOW as additional reading on the side?

I've seen the VP worksheets for 1815 to Present and honestly, didn't like them much. I do like the idea of using the song for memorization though.

Tell me how you use the audio memory songs for geography. We have the CD, and have listened in spurts in the past, although the girls do like it. It's funny that you mention this b/c I actually put it back on top of the stack last week and began playing it again in the mornings. We started with the British Isles, by singing the song and coloring and labeling the map. Is this what you're doing? It's certainly easy. Almost seemed too easy.

I love the idea of TOG, but I'm really trying not to buy ANYTHING unless I know we will use it. After all the posts of late, I'm hesistant about purchasing, b/c if anything, I need to free up time, not commit more of it. History is one of our favorite subjects and I'd like to keep it that way.

Have you seen History Portfolio? I'm so drawn to this b/c it seems like such a nice way to present narrations, maps, drawings and the like.

Time to go read bedtime stories it's nearly 8:00 here.

Thanks for the insights.
