My ds has liked all the Chronicles of Narnia books and all the Redwall books. He did a few Hardy Boys (OLD ones ONLY!), but grew weary of the "formula." In addition, I get lots of readers from Sonlight and Veritas Press. Their catalogs are great to keep around for ideas. Trailblazer books are good as well. Hobbit, Tom Sawyer, A Squire's Tale, Rifles for Watie. Hope some of these help.
