BJU users - I'm wanting to switch to a more cohesive curriculum for next year with K-1st grader and 3rd grader. Insights appreciated! m

I currently piece together their work from a few WTM recommended sources. My 5yos does Saxon K and Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading about 3 times a week. We won't finish either of those this year. For him I was thinking of:
*Continuing Saxon K Math
*Adding BJU 1st grade Phonics & English, Spelling, Science, and Bible.

My 8yos uses Saxon 2 Math, First Language Lessons, has finished OPGTR and just reads each day from various books at or above his level, Spelling Workout B, Mudpies to Magnets (ok, only rarely, I'm a science slacker), and some SOTW II (ok, only rarely, Dad is the prof this year and I'm biting my tongue :-).

For him next year I was thinking:
*Starting BJU Math 3, Writing/Grammar 3, Heritage Studies 3, Spelling 3, and Science 3.

I am actually trying to decide if I could have them do Bible together and if so which year? Also, should we just continue to plug away at SOTW II (which they do together) or let them start "Heritage Studies"? And should they do it together, and if so, which year?

I really like the idea of the different topics all having Bible principles and scripture included throughout. The Teacher's Editions seem to be very helpful and full of great suggestions and supplemental material. Anyway, input from those of you who have used it would be much appreciated.
