MFW First Grade is Ancient History, it's just not the ancient history of the pagans. SL's Core 1 is saturated with the pagan gods. My son was bothered by the pictures of idols and Ishtar, etc. And truthfully, so was I! With MFW, the Bible is your only history and you do a timeline to go along with your bible lessons. Just right for a first grader. SL teaches the Bible as history, too, of course, but there is so much paganisn early on in Core 1 that it is quite distracting from Biblical history, in my opinion.
