If I recall correctly, a friend of mine is doing Chem level I. It seems some/many? of the experiments are similar to preLevel but more details or a bit more involved. I would look at sample pages. I think Amazon.com has sample pages for each of the books. I would lean towards getting level I for older child and modifying that for the younger. OR get the prelevel I student textbook for the younger and level I student textbook for the older along/ w/ experiment sheets.
