TOG is different from SOTW. If you pick TOG you have to add books like SOTW to use it...

TOG tells you read these books, answer these questions, do these projects, but it doesn't include the text that your child needs to read.

Depending on the age of your child(ren) I would choose SOTW if all you want is history.
