I had done some investigation on Latin before buying TWTM and was told that Wheelock's was *the* book for Latin.
Now I have TWTM and find that Wheelocks was, indeed, recommended in an earlier edition, but now it is not.
Can someone tell me why?
My son has never studied a language before, so I want to make sure his experience is as successful as possible. I've been holding off working with him on this until I can make sure we are starting in the right place -- I don't want him frustrated right out of the gate.
He is fourteen and I have him doing eighth grade work as an introduction to this way of learning. So far, he seem to really like it and look forward to working.

Oh -- I guess I should mention that, while I studied Spanish in high school, I never studied Latin -- so it needs to work for both of us. :-)
