i switched to AG for eighth grade. my son seems to finally be retaining the information - though the foundation from VIE probably helps. i don't think VIE taught diagramming in a way that i could easily integrate. the daily repetition and build of AG really works for him. he has been finding the work load overwhelming so of late i've been splitting the lessons into two days. AG has been worth the money; i am very pleased.
