14 year old:

reads on grade level

can write a paragraph with supporting details

can write a basic essay--sometimes his logic is really good, sometimes it is lacking, I think it depends on how anxious he is to be done with it

his spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and usage are very poor

math--he did fine until he got to algebra--he is failing at algebra, but he really wants to stick with it because all his friends at church are in algebra

My 12 year old:

reads at about a 4th grade level

can not write anything cohesive

spelling and grammar is at a 1st grade level

math-has always been easy for her, but she is starting to struggle--she is on 6th grade level

She is dsylexic, so even though she works harder than her older brother, her progress is very slow.
