We always stayed laid back about such things and at almost 15, my daughter couldn't care less. I think parents sometimes cause issues where maybe they wouldn't have come up

had they just relaxed.

My daughter had some make up at 10. She played with it, wore it around the house, lightly. We just never made any issue regarding it whatsoever. She's worn it a handful of times and really doesn't care.

Now part of that may well be her personality, but oftentimes, I see this (and similar issues) become a battle because the parents set it up that way, sometimes even when the child is very young. They encourage rebelliousness, power struggles, etc.

We have always parented in a very laid back manner, encouraging individuality, thinking and problem solving skills, and just plain kid-ness. So a 4 or 10yr old may try on make up and then a 15 yr old is pretty laid back, just like her parents, whether she wears a little or not.

Anyway, I really don't have an opinion about teenagers wearing a bit of make up. So not much to push the envelope here. I would limit, in some situations (ie, with me, the congregation, etc) if I felt necessary, but what they do around the house and with friends? Whatever. We are so fortunate if the worst we have to worry about with our girls is that they wear their make up a little differently than ideal or their closests are messy (my daughter's issue!).

Relax :)
