and his writing skills were above most of his peers. We always encorporated writing in with his history studies. We did all types of writing. I used the Write Source workbooks as guidebooks and we'd read an example of a writing he was to do and then he'd do his own. We used the prewriting, rough draft, revising method. I'd talk with him after his rough draft asking him questions and discussing what I'd like to know more about, what part I liked, what confused me...Not until after the 2nd rewrite would we look at spelling, punctuation, etc.
