Having completed through Saxon's Algebra 2 your son will have covered between 1/2 and 2/3 of Geometry (scope) and would only be 'lacking' the proof/logic part.

If you want to spend a ton of money for less than half of a course then go ahead with Teaching Textbooks--it is a decent course--but your son will know most of the material (but it would resell very easily). It would not 'hurt' your son to have an easy year of math...but he may get bored.

Some of my former students completed their Geometry credit by working the first part of a traditional text. The one I suggested was the 1992 edition of Holt Geometry by Eugene Nichols. They need to complete the first 6-7 chapters to complete the course. This is a traditional PS Geometry text--it is easy to understand and has clear examples in the student's text. The lessons are not time comsuming--I've had several students complete the required chapters in 6-8 weeks. This was the leading PS Geometry text at the time it was published--and it is very easy to find in good-even new- condition. The newer editions of this text contain a lot of fluff and 'new math'--I prefer straight teaching. The average cost of the student text AND the TE is around $50 or less.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
