Henle First Year book and Henle Second Year book are actually three years of high school Latin.
Henle First Year entire book is two years of high school Latin credit
If he is able to maintain 'high school' pace those throughout Henle FY it will take the two years.
If he averages half-pace, then it could take the four years of 6th/7th/8th/9th
It can also depend on how many minutes your student studies his Latin. There is a big difference over 2-3 years in whether he studies :30 minutes daily, or :60 minutes daily, or :45 minutes, etc. It may also depend on how eager of a Latin student he is in any given semester :-)
