Really, I'm thinking out loud here and am not sure how this would work, so here goes.
I have a 16 yob (11th grade) most of his work is average. I have noticed that with certain subjects such as Alg II , Art and Music that when he's been given a 2 hour lesson once a week the rest of the week he'll do at least what I expect if not more in these subjs. I know that art and music aren't core, but he's more willing to do them b/c I'm not 'bugging' him about turning in this and let me read that, have you finished xy&z?
So, here's the thing...what if I do this with all of his subjects.
Say, art is on Fri (1-3) which it is, then the rest of this week and the next until his next lesson he keeps busy doing the newly learned concept...would this ring true for all the rest of his subjs?
Maybe, If we have a set time for certain subj like Mon: Eng from 9-11, then Alg II from 12-2 and Latin from 3-5. He'll get all set up for the week in those subjs. Then on Tues: Forensics 9-11, Current Events 12-2, and US Hist 3-5...somewhere in here is guitar/music from 12-1, but anyway these are just examples...
Anyone want to either tell how stupid this sounds, talk me out of it, or tell me it sounds great and to go for it?
Like I said I'm just thinking aloud.
