that perhaps courses should not be put on a transcript as though they were taken in 9th grade when, in fact, they were taken perhaps in 7th or 8th grade. I really did understand your point in the first place. I was re-stating my second point, that counting certain courses as h.s. level courses was valid.
When I was discussing this issue with one of our local homeschool leaders for our state organization, Families for Home Education, I thought I understood her to say that if a course was normally considered to be a 9th grade level course, for example, that's how it should be marked on your transcript.
This issue is fuzzy for me, and I tried to preface my initial comments by stating "this is what I think, but I don't really know." I'm not certain how transcripts should be made up--according to state homeschool laws, according to what colleges are looking for, etc. Who governs this?
My computer program that keeps track of my homeschool hours is called Edu-Track. It has the capability of generating a transcript, as well. When I was discussing this issue with our local FHE representative, again, I thought I understood her to say that if your child was in the 7th grade, but was working on h.s. level Latin, that I should mark on the program that the course was 9th grade level, but the hours would still count towards that school calendar year. But again, I'm not clear on this issue.
In my previous post I was reiterating my second point that courses like Henle and TL I and II were, in my opinion, h.s. level courses. HOW to mark this on a transcript is a whole different issue.
I know that this summer one of my big plans is to get educated on how to make up a h.s. level transcript, and to figure out how to mark some of these types of courses. Also I'd like to find out what laws, if any, are applicable to how transcripts are made up.
I hope this helps to clarify (and not muddy) some of my earlier comments.
