Whenyou say, "do a 1-year "history of the novel/great books/worldview" course with all 3 of them next year, choosing slightly easier texts for 7th grader if needed ", do you mean,for eg, if I'm asking my two oldest to read, say, Great Expectations or Huckleberry Finn, I should have my gr 7 son read abridged versions? Or do you mean have him read something different? (in which case,how can we have these "family discussions"?) And if abridged, what to do re books that either are not available in abridged form, or simply are not suitablef or his age (eg, To Kill a Mockingbird)?
