Does a high school transcript typically include 8th grade coursework? (m)

Yes, my favorite pastime is looking ahead (my oldest is just finishing 5th grade) ~ that's why I enjoy perusing this board. ;-) One thing I wonder, regarding transcripts, is whether or not people include 8th grade coursework.

What if, for example, a child studies algebra in 7th grade and geometry in 8th ~ shouldn't that info be included on a transcript, even though the classes were completed prior to high school? Or what if a student completes several years of foreign language study prior to high school and then doesn't want to pursue it any more? It will appear, based on a 9th-12th grade transcript, that s/he never studied a foreign language. Do you know what I mean?
