I will say that if your son has done MR Algebra I, he will probably find TT Algebra II to be a TON of review, and not really very challenging.
I think TT is a good program, but I think MR probably covers more in the Algebra I program, thereby making TT's Algebra II seem, "easy," in comparison.
Though MR doesn't even have a complete Algebra II, I think you could do the two phases of that and still cover what was covered in the TT.
All that said, the TT Algebra II did work for my dd and she enjoyed it, so I really just think that it's personal preference. The consistency of using MR would probably be really good as well. You could always use the TT for Geometry.
