it started just with the humanities, but now its' ideas have transferred over to all disciplines. (A heavy influence of postmodernism in architecture has produced designs with no rules to follow.) When there is no truth to be found, then any authority telling us what truth is becomes offensive. Therefore, there are obviously no facts to learn (to be consistent), but usually just very little facts to learn (inconsistent) at the university.
This brings about the lack of any substance and disentigrates into nothing of content.
The good news is that postmodernism can't be consistently lived out. If you make a design as an architect apart from the rules, your house will not stand (and you will not be able to keep a job!).
It is frustrating, but our dds will be all the more likely to take hold of leadership positions and have great influence in the world when postmodernism is dead. So the long-term outlook is quite encouraging!
