I'm not familiar with Nallenart--although I think I've seen it at conferences.

Is VLC's grade 9 French applied or academic? AMDECs is academic. ILCs is Applied. I can't find a listing for a French course at VLC. I'd be quite interested in what you find out on this.

DD is doing quite well in the class--so perhaps it would be less challenging if she wasn't doing as well! (That is, we wouldn't be putting as much effort into it.) I am finding that the grammar rules cover nuances that I didn't cover in 3 years of US h.s. French. Yesterday I had to go to AMSCO's "French 3rd Year" to find more review exercises that matched what she was doing in class. That should roughly correspond to 3rd year hs in the States. The basic topic (use of en and y) was covered in "French First Year"--but the extra nuances aren't covered until much later.

She'll take grade 10 French next year--and I'm expecting it will seem a bit easier because she won't have as much "catching up" to do.
